It's Official... IT'S A BOY!

So we had our ultrasound yesterday, and it confirmed what I've been feeling for at least the past 4-6 weeks: we are having a boy! We are having a boy who doesn't have a name yet, but he'll get one at some point, I feel fairly confident about.  : )

Anyhow, the scan went well - he's perfectly healthy as far as the machine can tell, just to get that out of the way. He's about 9 ounces right now. And that's at 18 or 19 weeks gestation (it varies based on which doctor of mine you're asking - one practice has our due date at 6/27 and my regular office goes by 7/4). 

So here's the thing: this boy is B-U-S-Y. They have now tried to warn me that what feels like fluttering at the moment is going to become really intense very soon. At one point during the scan, he even had his legs scrunched up below him as though he was preparing to rocket off my uterine wall (which he probably did). In fact, he was so all over the place during the ultrasound, that the poor girl in training who was attempting to perform our scan had the darnedest time. (The person training her stepped in at the end to complete some of the missing shots.) 

And he's feisty, too. Whenever they needed him to be still, he just kept going and going. And similarly, when they wanted him to shift so they could get a better view, he'd stay right there. During the heart section of the scan, he kept blocking their view by holding his hand in front of his chest (he did this at his face during the head scans, too). And the only way they were able to get the best proof of his gender, was when he was mooning us! Then there was also the attempts at getting a good profile pic - he was either smashing his face into my wall so you couldn't see his pretty little nose, or her was arching his head backwards.

I have a feeling this little guy is going to give us a run for our money... 

P.S. As I type this, he's jumping all over my bladder.  : )
