The Promised Ice Pictures

So these were taken one night after Ed got home from work. Avery was just enjoying some quiet time with her Daddy, eating ice and watching something on the boob tube.

Oh, how she loves her ice.

                         "More, Please."

(In case you noticed, this is not the sign for "more;" however, Avery has lately been morphing the signs for "more" and "eat" into one - a sentence, so to speak. It's her shortcut way of saying 'I want to eat more, please, Mommy.' Isn't she so smart!?!)

                                            Nose!

(BTW, we've been working on teaching Ave's the facial features, and the nose is proving to be her favorite thus far. Even tonight before she went to sleep, she reached up and grabbed my nose, then her own. She's also fond of the eye, followed by the ear.)

Anyhow, I don't know about you, but I am so happy that the week is already half over. Only two more work days for Ed before the weekend! Have a great one!

I love this little girl.

Avery and I had such a nice morning today. Most of it was pretty run of the mill (cheesy scrambled eggs with toast for breakfast, a bit of play between the kitchen, living room, and her crib and bedroom), but even those little things are special times for me.

Then there was the hour before her nap. She has decided that she really loves ice chips. She calls them "eye-h." I've been giving them to her in a little plastic gerber food cup, and she will actually sit still to eat them. This is a really lovely thing. She is a BUSY girl, so knowing that something will make her stay still for a moment is a wonderful thing.

And here's the big deal about this morning. I accidentally discovered a muppet movie on tv, "The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland." And she was interested!

So we sat on the couch together and enjoyed the last 45 minutes of this movie before she fell asleep at the very end. It was a truly special moment in our day-to-day.

So anyhow, I'm off to get some things done while she naps, but I just wanted to share a slice of our life.

Isn't she easy to love?
PS - These were just a couple of shots from the other day. I actually have some pics of Ave's eating ice chips with her Daddy from last night, but they aren't on the pc yet. Might post those soon...

A Few Weeks of Avery Love

Hey All, Thought I'd share some pics of Ave's from her fifteenth month thus far. Hope you are well and that you all have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Avery LOVES sitting on furniture like a big girl while holding the remote now.
These next two are from our successful trip to the pool one weekday. They were taken right before our walk home and then about fifteen minutes later.
This, while so stinkin' cute, ruined her nap for the day.
This one's called "Molar Teething Sucks."
Every day, Avery and I spend at least one moment (usually many more) watching Finn out the window in the morning.
"Baa...Baa"
Spaghetti!
