Avery's First Halloween!!!

Well, we had a packed weekend! It was so great though. I honestly can't even remember Friday night since we were so busy yesterday. We started out the day with pumpkin pictures. Ed bought the biggest pumpkin he could find from Publix, we carved it out, and stuck our adorable little girl inside it. We must have taken over 50 pictures, but it was so much fun watching Avery explore her most unique new surroundings. Here are just a few of my favorites:

After the pumpkin fun (and Ave's immediate bath and nap), we headed over to Dusty and Kelly's to enjoy the holiday. Our other friends, Andrew and Daniella, brought their 3 month old Diana to visit with us all as well. We had a great time catching up and watching our babies interact (as always). While we were there, everyone enjoyed taking similar pictures of their families/babies with our pumpkin. A little while later, Dusty and Kelly's neighbor Jessica brought her little girl Reagan over, who is a couple weeks older than Avery and Liam. It was at this point that we took photos of the three older babies in their costumes. I can't even tell you how many photos came out of this charade, but I will say that it involved 7 adults, 4 cameras, and 1 video camera! First time parents... you could spot us a mile away! Here are a few of the best ones:

We left Dusty and Kelly's around 4pm and headed home, where we hosted our other good friends, Amy and Griff. We had yummy steak salads, ate entirely too many Reese's candies, and watched Stir of Echoes (I hate scary movies, so this was a good compromise.). As always, no pictures were taken, so there is - yet again- no proof that any of this happened. (I can't believe we always forget to get pictures! My camera was probably thrilled for the break though.)

Today was all about relaxing at home. The one big thing that happened was that we gave Ave her first taste of a solid that wasn't rice cereal. The butternut squash that was in our pumpkin pictures - it also served as Ave's solid meal for today. And of course, there are photos of that event, too. Oh yes, and two more things: One, Avery can officially get to a standing position now while holding a small toy as well. And two, we dressed up Avery in a new gently-used dress from our neighbors - so cute! It had a poofy skirt, and we paired it with tights and tiny dress shoes. She looked so precious.

Anyhow, must go to bed now. Ave will be up in a few hours, so I shouldn't squander any more of my beauty sleep. Hope you all had a great weekend and that the week ahead treats you well, too.

P.S. Chic-Fil-A's peppermint chocolate milkshakes are back this week... do you all remember how much I craved stuff like that last year at this time? Ahh, memories!

What adorable pictures!! Katie and Ed if you ever need a back up career I think you could open your own photography studio! These pictures look like they were done by a professional. Thanks for sharing them and your lives with us! It makes up for not being there to see it in person. Love, Avery's favorite Nana.
